Marathon Power is pleased to announce a new sales
representative agreement with Leviton Manufacturing.
This relationship allows Marathon Power to represent
Leviton’s extensive line of Surge Protective
Devices (SPD’s) in California. Complimented
by a comprehensive range of Uninterruptible Power
Supplies, Marathon Power now offers a large assortment
of the most important Power Quality products to prospective
customers. Since there is a lot of synergy between
the two companies, such an association is a logical
one for many reasons. One of the most noteworthy is
that both are focused on and offer products well-suited
to Industrial, Healthcare and Large Commercial markets.
The connection between the two organizations goes
back a long way in view of the fact that the President
of Marathon Power, Mr. Shawn Dutton, was once part
of Leviton’s Power Quality Group in San Diego.
During that time, his focus was on launching and managing
their UPS’s products but as a matter of course,
he became familiar with Leviton’s SPD products,
its applications and customers.
Marathon’s existing sales force has been trained
and provided with the necessary tools to promote Leviton’s
Surge products alongside the UPS’s. Both product
categories complement each other very well, as many
customers often require both a battery backup and
a surge suppression system to protect their critical
loads. While most reasonable quality UPS systems contain
some level of surge protection internally, it is seldom
sufficient to protect the UPS and its connected loads
from a severe spike or voltage surge. Placing a good
surge protector ahead of the UPS allows the customer
to rest assured that their sensitive equipment is
protected against all types of power anomalies.

Protective Devices, please

For additional information, assistance with an application
or if you have any general questions, please
contact Marathon Power or your local California representative.
We look forward to the opportunity of being of service!
Sincerely,
Marathon Power Inc.

The following improvements to and accessories for, our Vault,
Athlon,
Track
and Sprint
Series of Uninterruptible Power Supplies are now available:
Automatic
Voltage Regulators/Power Conditioners
for
the Vault
Series |
| We
are pleased to announce that our Vault Series products
are now available
as electronic Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR’s)
and Power Conditioners.
Many
customer sites do not suffer from a complete loss
of power; i.e. short-term blackouts or momentary
interruptions. Their applications only require protection
against lesser but more common power anomalies such
as surges, swells, sags, frequency variations, noise
and transients. Given this fact, it is easy to see
that there is no need for a solution that contains
energy storage.
The extreme versatility of the Vault Series models
means they can now be used to mitigate the above
anomalies, as a power conditioner and voltage stabilizer
or regulator. With a few firmware and other minor
changes as well as the removal of the internal batteries,
the Vault Series UPS becomes a very effective and
efficient AVR!
Since an online, double conversion topology is used
as a platform, the unit provides all of the benefits
of such a design, including complete isolation between
the source and the load. They can also be installed
in systems that are powered by a line-to-line power
supply. Just like their Vault UPS equivalent, they
do not need a neutral to operate correctly, which
means that they are ideal for industrial loads,
many of which are fed by two phases of a 208V AC
input supply.
Specifications for these models are identical to
their UPS counterparts, except for the battery related
information, obviously. All certifications and approvals
remain in place since there are no mechanical and
electrical modifications or changes. They are available
in various form factors such as Tower, 19”
Rack-Mount and Rack-Tower.

The
Athlon,
Track,
and Sprint
Series of Uninterruptible Power Supplies
represents the first in a line of power protection products
designed specifically for commercial and industrial applications.
Since our company focus is on niche segments such as healthcare/medical,
industrial automation, security and banking, telecommunications,
test and measurement, lighting and OEM’s, the UPS’s
are designed for single phase applications in these markets
with powers ranging from 400VA to 3000VA
and voltages from 110V to 240V.
Designed to international standards by one of the world’s
top ISO 9001-certified manufacturers, they include a host
of features specific to these markets and in some cases,
unique to the product line. There are standard and extended
run-time versions and all are available in both Tower
and 19” Rack-Mount form factors.
Technological features include dual microprocessor control,
interactive sleep mode, hardwire connectivity, remote signaling
and control, multifunction interactive LCD displays, advanced
battery management, 50/60Hz auto-sensing, “Cold”
start and generic power monitoring and UPS control software.
Numerous extended run-time battery pack options
and configurations are also available.
Aside from offering unique and application-specific products
at competitive prices, we seek to also differentiate ourselves
by providing both prospective and existing customers individual
attention and exemplary service and support. In addition,
most models are stocked in reasonable quantities
in our Los Angeles area warehouse and therefore available
immediately. We also welcome custom opportunities.
